US Senator Larry Craig was cheated out of a mess of press coverage by his unfortunately-timed Friday resignation. Just before the long weekend. Poo. The next Republican Senator caught soliciting sex in a public bathroom should keep in mind that if you resign on a Friday before a long weekend you’re just not gonna get the coverage you deserve. I feel bad for Ol’ “Wide-Stance.” In fact, I feel so bad for him that I want to give him a little going away present. I’m going to post a long passage from a story I know he’ll just love (if he doesn’t already) and really relate to. It’s by Alfred Chester and it’s called, “In Praise of Vespasian,” and it’s about those encounters he relishes so.
